We created the Journal of Young Designers to give young people a place to publish their designs and so that others, like them, could be inspired to create their own. Designs from any subject areas may be submitted.

JoYD is an open-access journal, so that schools and teachers may freely incorporate it into their curriculum.

We hope that, by publishing, children and young adults will learn the joy of designing and then create a better world.

The Journal of Young Designers was established by Dave and Sarah Harmon as part of an initiative by Create It Lab. Create It Lab is an organization devoted to encouraging lifelong interests in science, technology, engineering, the arts and mathematics (STEAM) through the use of hands-on demonstrations and educational projects.
